The Prime Minister & the Fly
I browse rediff.com regularly to catch up on Indian news. Recently, I came across one of their specials with the title “The Prime Minister & the Fly” which intrigued me. Upon further reading, I figured out that this was an excerpt from a book named Doordarshan Days.
The name reminded me of Malgudi Days and I started reading the few pages that were pulled out of the book. Amazing, the book is about an IAS officer Bhaskar Ghose (who happens to be the author) who is called to Delhi to take over and reform doordarshan (The State Television of India) by the then Prime Minister of India Rajiv Ghandi. I am yet to order the book, but I can tell you that the excerpt is funny and hilarious. Read the excerpt here
