Flowers are not a gift. Not anymore

One of my first questions was always “So what kinda flowers do you like ?”.

The answer was different every single time. From lillies to roses and ocassionally I got the “I prefer chocolates to flowers” answer.

Those were the good old days. In todays world, flowers are no longer a gift by themselves. When you give someone flowers, they gladly accept it and a second later, their eyes are searching to see if there is something else. Flowers, the symbol of love, respect, devotion has been reduced to the equivalent of those small servings of ketchup that come with your Big Mac.

I wonder why…
