James Bond Vs. Xander Cage (XXX)

The title is not to fool you, but is to make a point. Actually two different points in one.

A couple of days ago, when I was driving home, I heard a clip from the movie XXX between Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson. Brash, arrogant and amazingly witty.

For a minute it got me thinking. Triple X is the American spy, one of the more recent and popular ones that I can remember. 007 is the Brit.

The Brit is Suave, Sophisticated and seduces every woman he can get his eyes on. The American spy is more brash, arrogant and witty.

Planet F1′s Winners & Losers had this.

Scott Speed is making new friends in F1 as quickly as Condeleeza Rice on a Tehran walkabout. It’s not a great idea to pick a fight with F1′s second most senior pro; David Coulthard, and there will be “afters” you can be sure of that. Red Bull should be putting the fun back into F1 not money in the swearbox. We can’t even remember the last GP driver who was fined $5000 for abusive language.

Even Fisi wasn’t fined for his “my car is f***ing ***t” outburst, so Speed’s languages must have involved mothers.

A couple of years ago, Schumi would not let David pass and as a result David flicked him off, on screen. But, it was all over when they got out of the car. They acted like nothing happened. This is the case with most F1 drivers. They go all crazy in the circuit, but when they get off, its back to normal.

Scott Speed, 22, is arrogant, self-centered and difficult to deal with. His diagnosis – and mine.

“I think that, fundamentally, I’m self-centered, I’m arrogant and very competitive, and those three things make it quite difficult to deal with me off the track,” he says. “But they’re definitely the reasons I’ve gone so far in racing.”

I am all for more competition, for more rivalry and a better show. But I do not think it was right of Scott to have cursed David, at some level even that can be forgiven, but the fact that American race fans are up in arms for Scott having to take slack makes me wanna laugh.

A cocky, arrogant driver circling around in a hoopty on this side of the pond is a problem ? But when he is on the world stage with a multi million dollar piece of machinery, its ok ?

Bush has won a few races as compared to Scott, so Come on, grow up.

  • Well Santosh, I was talking about Diesel. Ice cube is in the new movie and if I remember right, the NSA agent SLJ is the permanent character in the movie who gets people to work for him.

And about Jason Bourne, I mean the movies were good, but he was not a spy. He was a spy gone coo-coo. ;-)
  • I prefer Jason Bourne to Xander Cage (is it Vin Diesel or Ice Cube?).
